I saw a picture in a catalogue today for the official Sony Remote. It said it was out at the end of August for $59.99
And thats in New Zealand so porbably sooner most places. $59 in NZ means the remote will likely be about $20 - $25 US.
Plus you get an updated driver disk. I'm sorry if this has been posted but I had only heard of the disk being a rumor.
that damn thing needs to hurry and come out...i've been waiting to get ahold of it...

If they deliver it soon together with
the new drivers, 25 bucks isn't a bad deal.
......Unlike that hdd..... :)

a remote for 25 bucks? are you joking me? Why would anyone buy it for that much, I would just get the pelican one or something (I just use the controller) if I wanted a remote at all.

BTW, I am back from vacation, anything exciting happen?

25$ is normal.
Get a satalite remote, or any decent remote, they're all in the 25-30$ range. Sony's PS2 remote looks profesional and has gotten great reviews.
I have the Pelican remote and it really sux, so I will gladly get Sony's (plus the disc helps).

I got the Zenith universal remote and that thing is a POS. It works great for my TV, but not with the PS2. It has the passthrough IR port so you can still have your controller hooked. Unfortunatly it doesn't to much good since most of the time it won't even work with the controller plugged in. The Sony remote looks like a nice piece, $25 isn't bad at all... I'll probebly be getting it since the only other DVD player I have in the house is on my computer.

-Ramon I have that one too...it's pretty lame. I don't know how much more useless it could be for my PS2. Only when I'm at my laziest does it suit me...

remotes are such a waste of money, just use the friggin controller! It only took me about 15 min to memorise what every button does and now i dont have to waste $25+ on a remote.:D

I'm also waiting for this one, hopefully it will have a passthrough IR port that really works. If so I will buy it for sure.

Theres no d-pad or analog though, unless u use those arrow keys, but i highly doubt that, plus dont u think it would be hard to use?
