What happened to this thing? I remember when I was just browsing this forum seeing this game, and I had forgotten it's name and the company who made it, but thanks to seven and his website (great site btw seven), I found these pictures in his forum. Anyone know what happened to it? Did it get canned? It was a great example of the PS2's power...
I'd love to see more on this game too, even if it was just to gawk at pretty pictures... these screens are amazing.
It was put on hold. Apparently Sony was so impressed with it or something they struck a deal with Appeal to use the engine and to make some sort of big exclusive title for the PS2, or so I heard so don't take my word for it. I'm sure there are others who knows more about this than I do. :)
The game was called Outcast 2 btw

It got put on hold because Infogrames made an offer to Appeal to make a new licence based game with their new engine. Still we dont know which game it is, but when the new game is complete they will finish Outcast 2.

that new game... hasn't it got more to do with Sony as its PS2 exclusive game?
As for the above two screenshots... they do look amazing don't they? I really wonder what game could be in the works and how it might look like... :bounce:

Those are (or were) screens of Outcast 2 running at apparently 60 fps. :) No movies unfortunately though... and since the game is on hold now, don't expect any new details for a long time.
BTW; any thoughts on what the new game could be? speculation?
