:thepimp: Hi there everybody !

email = Knot3D@hotmail.com or

HKonings@Home.nl

My journal may be different from others becuz I won't start
writing down my stuff from a day outta my life. Instead I will
start to write about what happened the last 2 months. I do this
becuz this will give you a sound 'background briefing', so
to say, on my current state of mind or life if you will. From
there on the day to day journals will probably start.

I hope you'll enjoy reading :)

Times of Change (1)
It all began in mid June of 2002 (Netherlands, Europe). I was in my 5th month working at my...ahhumm... 'temporary job' at the callcentre. I graduated
at Artsacademy majoring Animation Design in August 2001. So
since then I had been job applying myself to death for a job in
computer animation without any solid luck. Now, the job at the
callcentre isn't quite bad perse ; it involves calling ppl who'd
request for building application, like building a new house for
example. We do inquiries on which construction materials they
need to buy. If that happens to be within our 'perimeters'we can
offer them a construction book to them for free becuz it's sponsored by construction/building material companies. In itself
the job ain't that bad ; I work at a nice desk with Airco a pc/telephone/headset/speaker combo. All nice and comfy, in contrast to a job in a factory plant. :crap: But, the whole thing is
supposed to be temporary as I want to make a succesfull career
for myself in CGI. So it had become a drag. I decided to take another shot at doing open job applications at multimedia studios here in the Netherlands. It seems there is quite a gap between the 'theories' which we learned at the academy and the 'practice'
of the real companies ; in other words the 'benchmark' is higher
than all we graduated students thought it was. But this time I would prepare myself better. So I started working more hard on my portfolio. The fact that I work for a small online games company ( Note : It's nothing big ! Just a coupla dudes of my age. A couple of programmers and Art/ 3D guys like myself. I make no money out of this.... so far), made it a bit more easy to know how to work on that. Here's the link to the site of 'our' little games
group :

It might be offline temporary though.

My mom and my dad saw me strugling with this situation 'status
quo' so all of a friggin sudden they asked me 'why don't you go
and do another study, education ?' That was it ! The missing piece
of the puzzle. They offered me they'll pay half of the college fee ! An offer I couldn't resist. I know I am fortunate becuz there are not THAT many ppl who get to do 2 academy educations in their lives. So I started looking a round for specialised multimedia
schools here in Holland which offer some hardcore 3D CGI education. I found this one http://www.cmm.nl It's a private school which offers a wide range of courses, ranging from app stuff to 3D stuff. This is exactly the missing link. The artsacademy DID teach alot in arts theories and other important stuff. But they're education lacks in
the practical - technical part. So I signed in at this College of Multimedia, which is btw in Amsterdam, and did an intake interview. Becuz I already have 2 years of Maya expierence I was
admitted for the 3D course. It all starts Octobre 21st. So that is my first major change. I felt relieved, becuz now I will take matters into my own hands and do something about it to get myself a better chance of getting that dream job and getting better at CGI animation ( I'm not so much in it for just modeling)
at the same time.
At the end of June my callcentre job vacation started, which gave me more time to see my friends and go out having fun. This is where the 'other' change thing kicks in, which doesn't have anything to do with games or CGI.
