The most waited game of the year is now in stores in USA, and data is in our hands. According to CNN Money, GTAVC has sold 1 million units in the first day at stores.

"I don't know the exactly results of the first day, but they're probably over 1 million", said Jeff Griffths, from Electronic Boutiques.

Many of the copies should have been the reserved ones. But many specialist have said GTAVC can become one of the most sold games in history.

I dont doubt it, this game has to be the most anticipated game of the year. It was no where to be found no later than 12pm on tuesday.
Its definately what its hyped to be and more.

That can't be true. That would mean that Rockstar sold 1 million copies, and got all $50 for each copy. And that's ignoring the cost of production.

The only way that would make sense is if Rockstar sold way more than 1 million copies on the first day.

If there were more than 4 million copies reserved, they likely sold more than 1 million in first day.

mm is correct, revenue doesn't factor in production costs.

yeah revenue is just amount of money made by selling the game. One million people handed over 50 bucks for the same thing... (hears champagne corks popping at Rockstar HQ).

Either way you look at it, Rockstar has made A LOT of money off this game... The hype/sells/buys ect made enough money for Rockstar to continue GTA developement. Damn I hope this game never stops.
