Anyone, I mean ANYONE who can get deep into the military base AFTER the "Sir, Yes Sir" mission without getting killed is simply amazing. I cant get 50 feet from the thing without getting shot at, WITH M4's at that! I get killed faster then That 80's Show.
Ive tried coming at it from every angle, to no prevail. Its impossible.
I need to get to my apache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGH!!
This as got to be the most difficult thing Ive had to do in this game. If anyone has any advice, please give. This is Horrible, simply horrible. :burn: :boom: :crap: :evil:

ahhh so it you have gotten all the packages that are hidden ???????
because i know there is the ultimate vehicle and i know its something that doesnt drive on roads
Later in the game you get a police uniform as one of your outfits and you can go onto the base without getting hassled

Anyway, I figured if the military uniform doesnt work then the cop uniform wouldnt work either but, the military uniform isnt really "legit", its just an alternate ya'know. Thanks tho.

I believe the uniform is available in the Washington beach police HQ..after you beat the CopLand mission.

Thats right.
BTW I dont mean to keep goin on about this but, everyone should definately invest their time in getting all hidden packages!!! Ive now mastered the manuverability of the helicopter. Its great. It takes a little time getting the aiming down, but I got up to level 18! Its crazy.
edit- ok nm found the base on the map . :) It's hard as hell to make any progress in there but what is there to get besides the heli? Looks like you'll have to come in with air power and leave with your prize.

You have to get 90 to 100 hidden packages first.
90 packs - tank
100 packs - hunter
No I mean there's a cool helicopter in the base (name escapes me for the moment), and that's the only reason I can see to even go in there.

100 packs - hunter Not true. I have like 19 hidden packages and I always go to the Army base to steal a Hunter.
That may be true for the tank though because I have not seen one outside of the "sir, yes sir" mission and when getting 6 stars.
BAH!!! I have 39 hidden packages and I have never seen the "hunter" at the airbase.
Maybe cause I blew it up once when I had 6 stars after me :)

The hunter is hard to miss. Its at the VERY back of the base. Its an apache helicopter.

Just put on your cop unifrom and you can stroll right to the back of the base. It is kind of like a maze. You have to go over catwalks and run along the tops of walls and stuff.
I.ve been to the base many many times. I have covered every square inch and have yet to see the chopper. Maybe I'm not far enough along in the game. Who knows?
I do know I have blown up the apache twice. Once on a mission, and once when I had a 6 star wanted level. Oh well I'm sure it will eventually show up. I'm just taking it slow this time around. I beat GTA3 in a week and went and traded it in for MGS2. I'm not trading this game in, and I don't want to beat it too fast. I'm just taking it all slow collecting money and property. I own everything on the game except the Malibu Club. And everything is generating assets for me.

Why not use the Police Uniform along with a normal Heli to get in with the min of fuss

If I steal a decent helicopter is there anywhere I can store it while I save or do I have to re-steal it every time?

You can put the heli on top of your Mansion or the Hyman condo.
