Tekken Tag Tournament
PS2 Reader Review by Grizzly BEar

Where did this come from? This game called Tekken Tag Tournament. Namco, known for great arcade to home versions, are also known for bringing something new to the fighting genre. But with TTT, they fail on that aspect: something new.

Oh, there are new things. There's the new opening video. There's the new costumes. There's even Tekken Bowl. But why do people buy fighting games? To fight. When Tekken 3 came out, it made the pages because of it's reformed fighting system. Sidestepping now could be launched into a whole slew of attacks. Different combos were implemented, and some charachters even got more moves. A huge make over was done to them, and everyone got a brand new level.

With TTT, the fighting system never changed. Just add another buddy, with the ability for them to kick the opponent when they are down during a tag. Whoopty doo! Wow, how long did it take Namco to come up with that one? I've been a HUGE Tekken fan, I even liked the Tekken anime movie even though it got terrible reviews. But TTT fails to deliver anything terribly new.

I will give them props for adding to the already cool levels, but wouldn't it just of been more impressive if they came up with entirely new levels?

And the end boss? Okay.....they must of ate too much take-out when they thought of her. There's no story really even involved. Sure, look in the manual, it'll tell you, but does it really go inline? No.

All in all, if you've played the entire series, and expect this to be Game of The Year, then you, my friend, will be dissapointed. If you haven't really played them all, and are looking for a decent beat-em-up, then go ahead and get it. But save your money and get DOA2, it has a whole lot more of stuff that hasn't been done in the 3D world.

Score: 7
Gameplay: 6
Graphics: 9
Sound: 7
Value: 6
